[Writer Resources] Review Sites

Here is a linked list of book reviewers in our genre. This list is not a duplicate of the list Dreamspinner Press uses, but is meant as a guide for authors and readers to find reviews and reviewers.

If you know of a book reviewer not listed, please leave a comment. If you have positive comments that would help an author decide the best reviewer to submit to, please leave a comment. Examples would be, “XYZ reviewer prefers paranormal romance set in South America.”

  1. Anyone know if any of these lean toward fantasy?

  2. Hi, Andi,
Almost all of them will accept fantasy. There are a few the specialize in paranormal, but that isn't an exact fit. I threw out the question on Twitter. I'll let you know what I find out and will mark the list above accordingly.

  3. For what my opinion is worth, I give props to Long and Short Book Reviews, Gaylistbookreviews, and Fallen Angel Reviews because they were willing to read a book that did not fit the norm of Harmony Ink releases or even gay-themed releases (i.e. the m/m romance isn't the main plot.) Kudos also to Reviews by Jessewave and The Novel Approach for agreeing to read my "different" book after I personally asked. The only other site I requested a review from that responded positively was Boys on the Brink (Jamie Deacon), which I didn't see listed here. He graciously agreed to check out my book and he writes very thoughtful reviews. You might want to add that one to your list. As to the others, so far as I know they never even considered reviewing my book and thus I have no personal knowledge regarding them. Hope this helps.

  4. I forgot to mention Amos Lassen – sorry Amos! He was actually the first to review my book – another chance taker, so if your book differs from the norm, check him out for a review.

  5. E.E. Ottoman replied, "Cole over at the Armchair Reader reads and reviews a lot of m/m fantasy but hasn't been doing a lot of reviews lately."

There's a new m/m book blog that launched this month, manned by a group of GoodReads readers.

    Boys in Our Books:

They have a crew of reviewers, so have a wide range of tastes, from contemporary to mystery to fantasy to dystopia/sci-fi to f/f. (Their "About us" is here for what they each read:
